Jordan smashes Indonesia for 2-0 in Tianjin - Aug 7, 2009
JORDAN - INDONESIA 105-47
As it was expected, Jordan was way better than Indonesia securing a place for the next stage even one day before the end of Preliminary Round. Jordan now has 2-0 in Group D, while Indonesia fell to 0-2. Islam Abbaas (201-C-80) was totally the best player in victory. He spent 23 minutes on the floor registering monster double-double, 23 points and 11 rebounds. Mohammad Hadrab (201-F-84) had 16 pts and 10 rebounds, while Jamal Almaaytah (213-C-81, agency: Passing Lane, college: Greensboro) also had double-double, 12 pts and 11 boards. Indonesia did not have any player with double-digits in scoring. Their best one was Kelly Purwanto (-G-83) with 8 pts.
Jordan was slightly better team in the first quarter ending it with 4-point lead, 21-17. After that moment Kelly Purwanto and his teammates somehow stopped. They faced with big problems at the offensive end, especially with running the plays and turnovers. On the other side, Jordan had couple of players in a game mood which Indonesians were not able to guard. Everything resulted with 26-5 for Jordan in the first half (plus 25). Nothing has changed after the breather. Islam Abbaas had no mercy for Indonesia helping his team to make 26-12 in third and 32-13 in the last quarter.
Tomorrow in Tianjin, Jordan will meet UAE. Indonesia will take on Lebanon.
